Silver Peak {Adventuring}

Originally I wasn't going to disclose where this hike was because there is something secret and sacred about it still. It could quickly become the next Chirico trail or Mt Si. but, because I think that everybody should go play outside I'll tell you: It's Silver peak right near Hyak. It's always incredible to hike little sections of the Pacific Crest Trail. It's oddly instantly meditative and thought-provoking. We hiked through deep woods that felt more remote than most of our climbs, hopped over (and sometimes through) streams and waterfalls, climbed up onto a granite mountain, through meadows and scrambled to the top of this peak that rises above so many in the central cascades. We could see Mt. Stuart, The Enchantments, Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier (wearing it's cute little hat), and from up above saw this perfectly circular little lake which happened to be Lake Annette- one of my favorite lake hikes. An amazing change of perspective- the view from above had turned my gorgeous large lake into a tiny little pond.
New favorite hiking snack (and we're never going again without it): Broccoli and dip at the top. Veggies never tasted so delish.
