... and then there was a baby. One of the sweetest little babies I've ever seen! I haven't actually even seen him in person yet. Brother texted me while I was on my way to a yoga class, trudging uphill in Seattle. All the text said was "We have an excellent baby here!" (For anybody else announcing that your wife (or you) has just given birth, people will want details!!... i.e. gender, name etc) I asked for gender and he replied "BOY!" and then I asked for a name and he said "Jehoshephat".
I looked at this text message for awhile, trying to calculate my response carefully. Of course I wanted to be supportive of whatever He was going to name his child, whether I liked it or not. But, Jehoshaphat? Seriously? I replied with just a rejoice and waited patiently for a text message that would hopefully be the real name of this sweet little babe.

You can thank your Dad for the nickname that I shall forever call you.
