Sunny Side up!

Why yes, what you see here is our new camping & adventure vehicle. This was our first trip in it! Because the PNW weather this summer has been "meh" in early July we were craving sunshine. So we packed this bad boy up and headed east! Rich got an awning so we can relax with a well-earned brew in the shade. It was so nice to get some vitamin D before heading back into the rain. Sleeping in here also means actual sleep, instead of waking up every half hour thinking you hear a bear outside your tent... *bliss*
This is a very popular spot for rock climbers. We watched them for awhile, wandered around in the desert and found a waterfall in the middle of it!

We realized that the waterfall was just irrigation water run off from the farms above the cliff... but it was still pretty. I found wild flowers that I had never seen before  and we ate chicken fajitas in the shade of our little awning.

After a hefty cup of coffee we headed back towards Ellensburg, wandered around CWU campus so I could walk down memory lane, stuffed our faces full of the best breakfast that Eburg has to offer (the palace) and slowly made our way back to the rainy side of the state.
