Now Entering Vata Season {Yoga}

Dear Yogis and Yoginis, hold tight, We're entering Vata Season. What does that mean friends? I'll tell you. In yoga there are three different Doshas that, ideally should be imbalance, however each person has a primary dosha that resonates loudly in their little soul capsule. Want to take a simple quiz to find out what you are? Here ya go: https://www.naturesformulary.com/test/dosha-test/
For those of you who have a primarily present vata dosha in your bod, you'll understand my struggles this Autumn. Naturally, it's my favorite of all seasons -because vata takes over and it's potentially the best and the worst version of myself. Vata represents wind, breath and is an energetic, cold, light, mobile force. Light and airy and gypsy like. There are bits that I would harness and embrace, like the wild windy side - but you cannot have one extreme without the other, so the need to keep it in check is always on the back of my mind. Good things about vata: It brings out the adventurous side, bursts of creativity, and an acute sharpness of intuition! Bad side: dryness like an alligator and completely irrational dose of anxiety, monkey-mind, uncertainty and fear.
If you're a Vata do these things to stay in check (though your entire being will try and convince you otherwise) Bundle up, wear scarves to protect your neck from wind, stay hydrated, eat a whole lot of sweet potatoes and soup, drink warm spiced teas instead of coffee, swap the granola out for warm oatmeal for grounding weight, and excessively use oil to stay moisturized. Steer clear from vata-provoking foods such as sugary treats, cold salads and caffeine. Wake early, sleep early. ''

"We are born to ride the wild winds of passion, surf the turbulent oceans of despair, and relentlessly explore the great vastness of this crazy world - until our bodies collapse in ecstatic exhaustion...

We are well versed in letting go, able to boldly exhale and swiftly set fire to the past, painstakingly gathering the ashen wisdom to build a more abundant future...

We are light and airy, yet never lacking depth...
We are carefree and sparkly, but our effervescence actually emanates from caring so deeply, from feeling the world's pain, happiness, love, sadness and struggle wildly pulsate within our chests, day in and day out.

We are spongy emotional barometers, picking up on another's mood immediately, sensing anxiety, anger, frief, frustration, and jealousy. Feeling it so intensely that we sometimes suffocate.

We crave alone time, solo adventures, secret places and quiet spaces because the world can seem so scary and overwhelming that we wonder if it could, in fact, swallow us entirely in one single gulp."
